VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans opened Coastal Cup play with a tough 66-0 loss to the UBC Thunderbirds Friday night at Ken Woods Field in Vancouver, B.C.

TWU will now have a couple of weeks off before hosting the Victoria Vikes on Friday, September 18 at The Stadium at Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. Match time is set for 5 p.m. (PT)

"Tough result vs another quality ubc side this evening. Physically we matched up well and our set piece was strong, however we didn't handle UBCs pace on transition well in the first half. In the second, we had a better half with some good impacts from the subs.
