LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western fourth-year guard David Mutabazi (Delta, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after scoring a double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds to go with five steals and four assists in the Spartans 98-87 win over the UBC Okanagan Heat Thursday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. The win moves the Spartans back to .500 at 7-7.
The weekend points give Mutabazi a career total of 998 points.
Mutabazi and the Spartans will continue their home stand next week when they host the UBC Thunderbirds on January 31, and February 1. Game time at the Langley Events Centre is set for 8 p.m. (PT), and 6 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
