With the 25-11, 25-12, 25-11 win the No. 3 Spartans improve to 13-4, while the youthful WolfPack remain winless at 0-17.
TRU's third year leftside Carly Nelson (Victoria) led the WolfPack with six kills in 24 attempts with three digs.
TWU fourth year setter Lauren Moncks (Standard, Alta.) led the Spartans attack with 22 assists, while second year setter Katie Woo (Surrey, B.C.) ran the WolfPack attack and finished with 16 assists.
"It is always tough when you are in a rebuilding mode," said Spartan coach Ryan Hofer about TRU. "You are collecting things and learning. For us, we have to focus on our own side. Meet our own standards and let the game take care of itself."
Hofer said he liked the way his teams kill efficiency. "We hit over .400. We have been working a lot on attacking better and making wiser choices. I thought we did that tonight."
"I thought we were tentative at the beginning," said WolfPack interim head coach Chad Grimm. "For the first third of a set we played well. Then, the back half of the sets we got indecisive."
The same two teams go at it again tomorrow at the TCC. Match time is 5 p.m.
Match Notes: The Spartans had 10 blocks to the 'Pack's one…the Spartans finished the night at 40.5 percent (39-7-79), while the WolfPack finished at negative 1.3 percent (20-21-77)…
