SPARTANS FINISH WESTCOAST CLASSIC WITH WIN 

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University women's volleyball team  finished the West Coast Classic with a 3-0 win over the University of Regina Cougars Sunday afternoon at War Memorial Gym.

The Spartans 25-21, 27-25, 25-23 win improves TWU to 4-1 in preseason play.

Rookie outside Micaylee Pucilowski (Kelowna, B.C.) with nine kills and fifth year leftside Carly Hamilton (Calgary) with eight kills led the Spartans attack, while Regina's Michelle Sweetling and Tori Glynn each finished with 10 kills for the Cougars.  Setter Nikki Cornwall (Coquitlam, B.C.) finished the afternoon with 20 set assists for TWU, while Leah Shevkenek finished with 30 for Regina.
Trinity Western opens up Canada West conference play Friday-Saturday when they will host the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack.
Match times at the Langley Events Centre are set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live on Canadawest.TV.
Match Notes: TWU hit at 23.8 percent (32-12-84), while Regina hit at 20 percent (40-21-95)…both teams had nine service aces…the Cougars had 35 digs, while the Spartans finished with 25 digs…TWU had seven total blocks, while Regina had eight…
