LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western women's volleyball team defeated the Simon Fraser University Clan 3-0 Friday night at the David E. Enarson Gym at TWU in Langley, B.C. However, the highlight of the night for the Spartans was not the 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 victory.

The highlight was the team welcoming back Alumni on Alumni Weekend as the Spartans raised their 2015 Canada West and 2015 CIS Championship Banners to the rafters of the David E.

The Spartans will be visiting with TWU Alumni through the weekend before heading out late Sunday night on a seven day Goodwill Tour to China. The Spartans and the TWU delegation will travel to a variety of areas in China including Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin.

The Spartans will return to Canada and play four matches in the West Coast Classic Oct. 1-4, before beginning Canada West conference play Oct. 16-17 in Brandon, Man.

Trinity Western Canada West home openers are on Oct. 23-24 against the University of Winnipeg. Match times are set for 6 p.m. and 5 p.m.
