BURNABY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University Spartans found their offence tonight as they defeated the Eastern Washington Eagles 6-2 to close out the BCIHL University Showcase Sunday night at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in Burnaby, B.C.
The win improves the Spartans to 8-0-4-1, while the loss drops the Eagles to 3-11-0-1.
"I thought it was one of our better performances of the year in terms of a full 60 minute effort," commented TWU head coach Barret Kropf. "It was nice to see the guys battling and really just playing for each other in terms of not being selfish and trying to do things on their own. It was a solid effort doing the little things for each other like battling and winning loose pucks and then creating turnovers and offence off of the turnover. We are thankful for the win and getting us off the slide and now we can start building on it."
The Spartans next game will be Friday, January 22 when they host the University of Victoria. Puck drop at the Langley Events Centre is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
