SPARTANS FALL TO THOMPSON RIVERS IN PRESEASON TILT

LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western's men's basketball team lost 97-78 against Thompson Rivers in preseason action Saturday at the Spartans David E. Enarson Gym.

TWU's preseason record drops to 1-1 against U SPORTS opponents, having knocked off UBC Okanagan last weekend.

QUOTABLE
Head Coach Aaron Muhic
"I thought we competed at a high level. This was one of our best rebounding games and I thought some guys stepped up because we had a couple of our centres out with injuries. I thought Eric Rogers (Chilliwack, B.C.), who has been injured throughout the preseason, stepped up and played really well. I also thought Aaron Paetkau (Parksville, B.C.) was very good. I thought our shot selection was pretty good tonight. Our team just needs to keep working on not being soft and not being a jump-shooting team. But overall, I like where we're at in the preseason."

NEXT UP
The Spartans wrap up the preseason with a trip to Seattle, where they will play Northwest Friday and Eastern Oregon Saturday.
