LANGLEY, B.C. – The Trinity Western Spartans men's basketball team will close out their 2018-19 season as they travel to UFV Friday night before returning home for senior athlete appreciation night Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.

THE WEEKEND STORY
• Trinity Western men's basketball team will look to end the season on a winning note as the Spartans travel to UFV on Friday night, before hosting their season finale Saturday night in Langley.
• Saturday night will be seniors night for TWU, commemorating the last games for Josiah Allison (Abbotsford, B.C.), Tee Maberry (Pasadena, Calif.), Eric Rogers (Chilliwack, B.C.) and Vartan Tanielian (Byblos, Lebanon).
• The Spartans are coming off a pair of high-scoring games after visiting Lethbridge last weekend (L 115-87 and L 109-86).
• After clinching a playoff spot two weeks ago, the Cascades have since lost three games in a row, but can secure a home playoff date if they beat the Spartans in both games.
• The Cascades are coming off a pair of losses at home against Calgary last week.
• After a 32-point game last weekend, guard Vartan Tanielian improved his Spartans leading 17.5 pts per game.
• Tanielian has made a TWU single-season record 70 3-pointers this year. He currently sits eighth amongst Canada West single-season leaders. Nathan Dixon (University of Manitoba, 2008-09) and Daniel Ferguson (Alberta, 2010-11) hold the conference's single-season record, at 82.
• Tanielian is 14th in CW amongst career leaders in 3-pointers made, at 186.
• Parm Bains (15.5 pts/g) leads the Cascades this season.
• TWU last matched up against UFV over a year ago, with each team winning on the road Jan. 4 (TWU lost 104-80) and Jan. 5 (TWU won 80-74).
