THE WEEKEND STORY
• Coming off a bye week, the league-leading TWU men's hockey team is back this weekend with a weekend series on Vancouver Island followed by a rare Monday afternoon game on B.C.'s Family Day.
• The Spartans enter the weekend just one point up on Selkirk and three points clear of VIU, but TWU has three games in hand on both games.
• The Spartans last outing saw them beat Selkirk 7-6 in a wild game at the Langley Events Centre.
• The Vikes are coming off a loss last weekend vs. SFU (5-1), which saw them drop their league worst 14th game of the season.
• The Mariners are coming off a pair of losses last weekend after visiting Selkirk (L 6-5, L 4-2).
• TWU defenseman Dustin Deugau (Calgary) leads the Spartans and is tied for second in the BCIHL in points, with four goals and 20 assists. His 24 points are tied for a career-high.
• TWU Goaltender Lucas Mills (Burnaby, B.C.) leads the way in goal for the Spartans, sitting first in the league in wins (12), goals against average (2.24) and save percentage (.913).
• Brett Clark and Matt Huber have split goaltending duties this year for VIU.
• Michael Fredrick, Zack Wear and Alec Dillon have all seen time in the crease for UVIC.
• TWU owns a 2-0-0-1 record against Victoria, a 5-0-0-0 record against VIU and a 3-2-0-0 record against SFU.
