THE WEEKEND STORY
  • The Spartans have continued to dominate the BCIHL in the New Year, recently defeating Victoria at home last Saturday (5-3) to improve a program best 12-game win streak.
  • Simon Fraser also earned a 5-3 home win against Victoria last weekend and will are still looking to pick up their first win against TWU this season (0-3).
  • Spartans forward Evan Last (Surrey, B.C.) currently sits second in league scoring with 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) through 12 games, while Simon Fraser's Mac Colasimone leads the Clan in scoring with 19 points (7 goals, 12 assists) through 14 games.
  • TWU goaltender Lucas Mills (Burnaby, B.C.) earned his 31st career regular season win last weekend, moving to second all-time in BCIHL history. He currently ranks first in goals-against average (2.36), while SFU's Andrew Henderson ranks first in save percentage (.930).
  • A Spartans win would match the BCIHL record of 13-straight in the same season, when Selkirk won 13 consecutive games during the 2012-13 season.
  • The longest cumulative winning streak in BCIHL history sits at 14 games, after Simon Fraser closed out the 2008-09 season with eight consecutive wins before opening 2009-10 with six consecutive.
