SPARTANS FALL TO KELOWNA IN HISTORIC GAME

DELTA, B.C. – In what was their first exhibition game as a varsity program, the Trinity Western Spartans fell 6-5 to Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna (RHA) Saturday at Planet Ice Delta.

AS IT HAPPENED
After trailing 1-0 early, the Spartans scored three consecutive goals to take a 3-1 lead at the first intermission. TWU would then add another two goals early in the second frame to lead 5-1. Kelowna would however fight back, scoring two goals late in the second and another three in the third to win the game 6-5. Ashlee Wolfe (Holbein, Sask.) and Brooklyn Anderson (Shellbrook, Sask.) each had a goal and two assists for TWU, while Chantel Weller (Saskatoon, Sask.) stopped 26 of 29 Kelowna shots.
