DELTA, B.C. – Spartans third-year forward Neisha Germann (Lloydminster, Alta.) scored two goals, including the game-winner, to lift TWU to a 3-2 victory over RINK Hockey Academy-Kelowna Saturday afternoon at Planet Ice Delta. 

AS IT HAPPENED 
The Spartans and RHA traded goals in the first period, with Ashlee Wolfe (Holbein, Sask.) scoring for TWU. Both teams traded goals less than three minutes apart in the second, with Germann scoring her first of the game from a Wolfe feed. Germann then added her second of the game, the game-winning goal, from a Kate Bumstead (Headingley, Man.) feed in the final period to lift the Spartans to their second exhibition win.

• Jadeyn Kastning (Medicine Hat, Alta.) stopped 33 of 35 RHA shots to pick up her first win in a Spartans uniform.
• The Spartans record moves to 2-2-0 in exhibition play this year. TWU has played RHA Kelowna in three of four exhibition games, falling 6-5 in their opener (Oct. 17) before a 3-0 win last Friday (Oct. 23).
• The Spartans were initially supposed to play this season as a member of the Canada West conference, before the 2020-21 season was cancelled following recommendations by the CW Board of Directors based on information provided by the CW COVID-19 task force.

"After RHA scored on the powerplay in the second period to even the game, we knew we had to make some adjustments. Those changes allowed us to maintain greater offensive pressure, and with our forecheck and puck pursuit we eventually got the game-winning goal. Neisha Germann and Ashlee Wolfe played great on the same line, and Jadeyn Kastning was solid in net despite our team being outshot pretty heavily. She made some key saves to keep us in the game and help us get this win today."
