SPARTANS LOSE TO UBC IN FINAL PRESEASON MATCH

Vancouver, B.C. – Trinity Western played their final preseason match on Friday, losing 2-1 to UBC.

The Spartans were up 1-0 after the first two periods but ended up surrendering two goals to lose the game. Goaltending was outstanding as the Spartan duo of goalies combined for 42 saves.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Jean LaForest
"It was a good outing, not an excellent one. Our goaltending was extremely good, keeping us in the game. We know we can compete in Canada West, so we can walk away from this preseason knowing a lot more about ourselves. It's time for us to move it up a level.

"We're disappointed that we lost like this, having the game in our hands after the first 40 minutes, but this is just another lesson we'll have to learn from. It's time for us to roll up our sleeves and get back to work."

UP NEXT
The Spartans play their home and season opener at the Langley Events Centre against Friday's opponent, UBC (Oct. 15th).
