EDMONTON – Trinity Western travelled to the Downtown Community Arena on Friday night, falling 7-0 to the MacEwan Griffins.
29 shots from the Spartans (0-9-0) wasn't enough as GMU (3-6-0) goaltender Ty Taylor refused to open the door throughout Friday's 60 minutes of action.
TWU took ten minor penalties throughout the duration of the game, amounting to a total of 20 penalty minutes. This kept the Spartans on their heels for Friday's match.
AS IT HAPPENED
MacEwan struck early as Chase Thudium capitalized on a power play chance 4:56 into the first period. Thudium stood as the only multi-goal scorer in Friday's game, scoring the first, and final goals en route to handing TWU their ninth loss of the season.
The Griffins continued to roll, scoring three goals apiece in both the first and second period of the game.
Thudium added his second goal of the game 15:40 into the final period of play to serve as the lone goal in the third.
NOTABLE
