SPARTANS DROP PRESEASON GAME TO MOUNT ROYAL

CALGARY – Trinity Western opened their preseason with a 4-1 loss to Mount Royal on Friday. This match stands as the Spartans first against U SPORTS competition.

The Spartans are making the jump to U SPORTS competition this season, participating in the Canada West conference.
 
First-year forward Reilley Kellner (Langley, B.C.) scored Trinity Western's very first goal against Canada West competition.

Friday's game is the first of three for the Spartans this weekend. The Spartans will be staying in Calgary, playing Mount Royal again on Saturday, then Calgary on Sunday.

"This was a good learning experience for us. Mount Royal is a very good team and we learned a lot about ourselves in today's game.
 
"We walk away from this game looking to take steps in our game. We know we can compete against our competition.
