SPARTANS COMPLETE PERFECT WEST COAST CLASSIC WITH WIN OVER UBC

VANCOUVER – Trinity Western's women's volleyball team went 4-0 in the annual West Coast Classic, capping the preseason tournament with a 3-2 (25-27, 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 15-9) win over UBC at War Memorial Gym.

The win sees TWU improve their preseason record to 6-1, as the Spartans earned West Coast Classic wins over UFV (3-1), Western (3-2) and Mount Royal (3-1) over the last three days.

The Spartans will now look forward to playing in the Volleyball Showcase at the Langley Events Centre Oct. 14-16 when TWU will play Alberta (Oct. 14), Waterloo (Oct. 15) and Queen's (Oct. 16).

QUOTABLE
Brynden MacTavish – TWU Assistant Coach
"It was a fun first rivalry night with Trinity and UBC. Overall, it was a great team victory. We got contributions from a lot of people and got a lot of people onto the floor. We continued to learn together and in the fifth set, we did a really good job of finding ways to score points and take control of the set."

NOTABLE
