AS IT HAPPENED
Saskatchewan wasted little time getting started offensively. Colby Jaquet had his first goal of the season three minutes into the first period, with assists from Jeffrey Faith and Mark Rumsey.
Around the six-minute mark, a skirmish in front of Trinity Western's net would send Spartans' goaltender Audet to the dressing room with an apparent injury. Sommer would take Audet's place, returning to the net after starting Friday's game. Saskatchewan's Cade Hayes served a two-minute minor for goaltender interference on the play.
In the final minutes of the first period, a pass from Shane Collins would find Vince Loschiavo's stick. Loschiavo fired it past Sommer, giving the Huskies the 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The Huskie Raphael Pelletier scored an impressive breakaway goal, his fifth of the season, and the only one in the period, extending the Huskies lead 3-0 heading into the third.
Picking up his fourth goal of the season was Dawson Holt midway through the third. The powerplay goal was assisted by Chantz Petruic and Mac Gross.
Loschiavo continued to be an offensive threat in the third period, notching his sixth goal of the season on a powerplay at 16:38. The goal was assisted by Colby Jaquet (his sixth of the year) and Carter Stebbings (his second).
