SPOKANE, Washington – The NCAA Div. I Gonzaga Bulldogs exploded for six second-half goals to defeat the visiting Trinity Western Spartans 6-0 Saturday night at Luger Field in Spokane, WA. The loss drops the Spartans to 1-2 in preseason play.
Hannah Miller (Langley, B.C.) played the full 90 in net for the Spartans and made eight saves in the loss. While Bulldogs split the keeping duties between four goalkeepers, who combined for three saves, with Lauren Towne playing the majority of the match, 68:21, to earn the win.
The Spartans and Bulldogs were tied 0-0 after the first 45 minutes of play. Gonzaga opened the scoring in the second minute of the second half to go up 1-0. The Bulldogs then broke open the game by scoring three goals in two and a half minutes, to give Gonzaga a 4-0 lead heading into the final 30 minutes of play. Gonzaga out-shot the Spartans 22-8 and had a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Match time against the Falcons is set for 6 p.m. PT at Interbay Stadium in Seattle. TWU kicks off Canada West play on Friday, August 25 against the UNBC Timberwolves in Prince George, B.C.
