AS IT HAPPENED
The Spartans opened the scoring in the 14

Sierra Halldorson (Winnipeg, Man.) went up the left side and beat the Saskatchewan outside back. Halldoson then sent a square ball to the top centre of the Huskies' penalty area to Crowther. The Spartans doubled their lead in the 37

Laren Spiller. Spiller got off a sliding heavily contested shot past Roberts to put TWU up 2-0 and record her third goal of the weekend.
In the 45
th minute, Saskatchewan had their best opportunity when Nammi Nguyen sent a high shot towards the Spartans net that challenged Miller. But the fifth keeper was able to control the rebound and prevent any danger from the Huskies forwards, as the half ended with TWU up 2-0.
Field got her third of the season to put TWU up 3-0 in the 59
th minute. First-year forward
Destiny Omari (Paris, Ont.) went up the right side beat her defender, and sent the ball into the box to rookie forward

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Graham Roxburgh
"I thought our start was excellent in terms of our combination of aggression to be able to win the ball and then keep it. We stretched them and we attacked the channels really well."
"Really proud of our overall performance. Good six points, on a good weekend against two stern opponents."
On individual players:
"Super pleased that Sophie scored because she does so much work and deserved a goal tonight and generated two or three other really good chances including our second goal."
"I thought Sierra was excellent as a leader in midfield, kept us in possession, and made some really intelligent passes that led to more grade-A chances."
"Tilly (James, third-year, defender, Vancouver, B.C.) and Danni (Cooper, second-year, defender, Surrey, B.C.) were bedrock and Mansha and Destiny came on and provided us with spark. And really pleased for Laren, as this was her break-out weekend."
