QUOTABLE
TWU head coach Peter Hay
"The message to the team was to play a 60-minute game and start right off the first shift, which we thought we did. We played a good solid team game, obviously went up quickly on the two goals, which created momentum and lots of confidence, but I thought we played really well."
"Unfortunately, in the second period, we got into penalty trouble and with penalties caused a little bit of chaos, and a little bit of momentum for them. But we were able to clean that up in the third and finish the game the right way, so it wasn't a full 60-minute game for us, but I felt that we played good hockey when we had to, and it was good to see multiple players scoring goals in both games this weekend."
On the teams four game winning streak.
"Getting four in a row, was exciting to hear that we're obviously breaking some new grounds in the history of the program, which is only four years old, but we are not that focused on outcomes. Our team's very focused and dialed in on the process and I think that's why we're doing so well. It is because we just care about the next shift and the next little habit that we are creating. They are executing as a team and we have a great culture with a great team that cares about everyone and it's a fun to come to the rink. So, I feel we're in a really good place. But next weekend's going to be another challenge as we play, McEwan who we can't take lightly and we have to be prepared, hopefully these are our best practices of the year."
