UP NEXT
The Spartans begin Canada West conference play on Friday October 4 when they travel to Calgary to face the Mount Royal Cougars for a two-game weekend set. Game time is set for 7 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (MT). The games can be seen live on Canada West TV.

QUOTABLE
TWU head coach Peter Hay
"We needed this game badly especially playing a U SPORTS team after playing a lot of good U18 teams. So having a U SPORTS team to play against was huge for us as we have nine new players and seven that have never played a U SPORTS game. It was big for us to get that experience, especially against a top team, like UBC, where there's no room for error. Only losing 3-0 is a sign of good things, especially in the third period where we didn't give up any goals and kept them to below 10 shots. A good sign of growth through the game."

"We know where we are, we know where we need to go. We're going to work hard every day, and we have a little saying that you either win or we learn and we're going to learn and keep growing. We are going to focus on the process, not worry too much about the outcome and hopefully the outcomes start coming our way as we get better and better each day."
