BROOKSVILLE, Florida – Trinity Western's duo of
Hannah Porter and
Zion White finished third overall at the Florida Collegiate Classic after putting together a +4 on the final round of best-shot doubles Monday at the Olympus Disc Golf Course.
With their +4 on Monday, Porter and Zion were fourth overall on the day to finish even for the three-round event. Their third overall result sees TWU finish behind only Emporia State, who are ranked No. 2 in the national college disc golf rankings, and Clemson, who are No. 6.
Joyce Leung and
Verity White shot a +8 on the third day of competition, which put them in fifth place for Monday's round. With a +17 overall, Leung and White finished sixth overall.

Chris Hartmann, TWU Head Coach
"On the final day, the course was lengthened and was made much more technical. In all likelihood, it was the toughest track any of the athletes have ever played. With these types of opportunities comes the potential for fantastic shots and lots of learning and we saw plenty of both today. Progress is not a straight line and with golf, the things that get you to one level of play aren't necessarily the same things that will get you to the next level. This weekend we saw what that next level looks like and I'm excited that it's within reach prior to going to the National Championships in early April."
