QUOTABLE
Trinity Western Head Coach Peter Hay
"We came ready and prepared to fight for the playoffs vs Calgary and every player on the team played outstanding and executed the plan after a slow start in the first. We absolutely dominated the second and third and proved once again we are a very good team. We are peaking at the right time of year and all the lines and D pairings are clicking and finding chemistry. This was a fun one to be part of. The room is buzzing. We will look to rinse and repeat tomorrow."
AS IT HAPPENED
The Spartans started slow and even though they outshot the Dinos TWU couldn't score until late in the period.  The Spartans capitalized on the power play, with Jordyn Matthews scoring the period's only goal at 19:23, assisted by Chayce Kullman and Ella Boon. The period ended with the Spartans leading 1-0.

In the second period, the Spartans found their game.  Trinity Western took an early lead with a goal by Kyra McDonald at 8:28, assisted by Ashley Breitkreuz. Shortly after, at 9:11, Jordyn Matthews extended their lead with a goal, assisted by McDonald and Chloe Reid. The Dinos responded at 13:10 with their lone goal from Rebecca Clarke, assisted by Jolie Nafziger and Hannah Reagh. However, the Spartans quickly regained a two-goal advantage when McDonald scored again at 14:09, her second goal of the period, with assists from Ella Boon and Reid. Both teams had opportunities with a man advantage due to penalties, but no additional goals were scored during these power plays as TWU led 4-1 after 40 minutes.

The third period had TWU put the game away with two goals. A goal by Olivia Leier at 7:06, assisted by Kara Yackel and Kyra Anderson, followed by another goal at 10:17 from Charlotte Swanton, assisted by Kailey Ledoux and Reilley Kellner made it a 6-1 game. Calgary wasn't able to get anything going as TWU finished the game with the dominant victory.
