QUOTABLE
Ryan Hofer, TWU Head Coach
"I thought Tana did a really nice job of distributing the ball. We've been working hard to build a balanced offence, with everybody able to compete or contribute using the different strengths they have. And I thought they did that tonight. We wanted to make Calgary play the ball on our serve, and I felt each person went back there and made good choices, and did a good job of managing the ball."

AS IT HAPPENED
The Dinos came out strong and jumped out to a quick 7-1 lead over the Spartans. But TWU responded and used a 10-5 run to take a 12-11 lead and put Calgary into a timeout. The Spartans continued to roll, taking a 16-12 lead after an Isabella Stothart middle attack, and forced the Dinos into another timeout. The Spartans kept rolling and, on the back of five service aces, took the opening set 25-14. TWU hit at .375 (14-2-32), while Calgary hit at negative .037 (4-5-27).

The Spartans took an early 5-2 lead, with Calgary taking a timeout to slow TWU's attack. The Dinos got back into the match and, midway through the set, had cut the TWU lead to one point, trailing 15-14. The two teams exchanged points as the set progressed, then Sienna Driedger scored with a kill and an ace to give TWU a 22-19 lead heading into the final stages of the set. The Spartans finished off the set with a 3-1 run to go up 2-0 with the 25-20 second set win. TWU finished the set hitting at .132 (14-9-38), while Calgary hit at .029 (8-7-35).

Trinity Western jumped out to another early lead, 5-2, but Calgary battled back to tie the set 9-9 after a Leni Blanke kill. A 10-5 TWU run put the Spartans up 19-14 and had the Dinos taking another timeout. The teams played sideout ball down the stretch before Boldon finished of the match with a cross-court kill to give TWU the final set 25-19 and the match 3-0.
