QUOTABLE
Trinity Western Head Coach Peter Hay
""I believe it's the culture and the character. We have a lot of it in our dressing room and even though we know we didn't play our best game, Manitoba came with everything on the line tonight and gave us their best we challenged [our team] in intermission and they take over that dressing room. We knew they were coming out with everything they had, and they found a way to get that goal."

On Kate Fawcett
"Kate has been a key goalie for us, and she's been a big piece of our success and honestly we know what kind of goalie we got, and she definitely performed at her best."

AS IT HAPPENED
The Bisons had the edge in shots on net 20-7 in the opening period and 13-5 in the second period, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

Manitoba finally solved Fawcett at 10:49 of the third period when Ashley Keller was able to score on the power play to give the Bisons a 1-0 lead. TWU's Kara Yackel got the equalizer four minutes later when she deflected a shot by Kailey Ledoux to tie the game at 1-1 with 3:15 remaining in regulation. Neither team was able to get the go-ahead goal as the game headed to overtime. Manitoba outshot TWU 10-8 in the third period.

Fawcett continued her strong play as Manitoba outshot the Spartans 27-13 in overtime. But it was a hard point shot by the Bisons Enns at 4:12 of the third overtime that made the difference as the Bisons earned the 2-1 win.
