EDUARDO MARTIN HUERTA FINISHES 5TH AT U SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

WINDSOR, Ont. – Trinity Western pole vaulter Jaime Eduardo Martin Huerta finished fifth at the 2025 U SPORTS Track & Field Championship with a vault of 4.80m Saturday at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse. 

On the final day of the national championships, Martin Huerta was amongst a group of four athletes who were tied at 4.80m, but landed in fifth based on missed attempts. Only the gold medal winner cleared higher than 4.80m. 

Sebastian Martin Huerta finished 14th after clearing 4.25m.

The Spartans men's team finished 11th overall with 17 points. The women's team finished 25th with three points. 

TWU finished the 2025 U SPORTS Track & Field Championships with one medal – Oke Okumo won bronze in long jump – six Top-8 results, including Dajean Clarke (6th – Heptathlon), Yemane Mulugeta (6th – 3000m), Sheleena Wiley (Long Jump – 7th), Alina Olson (Shot Put – 8th), Danny Earles (300m – 8th) and Martin Huerta.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will host the first-ever Battle of Sparta April 12 at McLeod Athletic Park to launch their outdoor season.
