QUOTABLE
Graham Roxburgh, TWU Head Coach
"Obviously, I'm relieved that after going behind on a bit of a fluky goal, we were able to settle ourselves and start playing. We scored two nice goals. Sophie's finish was superb, and our game-winning goal for Mansha was really well set up by Erin. I thought our second half had more compete and poise, but we're going to have to be better than that corporately in phases of the game."
"I thought Holly (
Holland Stiel, fourth-year forward, Okotoks, Alta.) tonight was super intelligent and allowed our front runners to really get going."
AS IT HAPPENED
The Cascades opened the scoring in the 36th minute. Jaidyan Jackson made a cross to an open Langston on the deep left side of the TWU final third. From the right top of the box, Langston looped the ball over Pahal and just under the crossbar to put the Cascades up 1-0.
At the end of the opening half, a wide-open Crowther tied the match in added time. From the left side of the box, Crowther took a pass from fourth-year midfielder
Kylie Hendricks (Maple Ridge, B.C.), who was on the right side of the UFV penalty area. Crowther took the pass and looped the ball into the top right corner of the Cascades' net to make it a 1-1 tie at the half.
Sidhu put the Spartans up 2-1 in the 72nd minute. After a corner kick, TWU fifth-year midfielder
Erin Stewart (Winnipeg, Man.) got a loose clearing ball and found Sidhu open on the left side of the box. Sidhu took a touch and then put the ball past UFV's Madec to give the visitors a one-goal lead with 18 minutes remaining.
