QUOTABLE
Graham Roxburgh, TWU Head Coach
"Obviously, a very good win. I thought TRU, in terms of battle and ability, is a threatening team. But I thought we dealt with their threats really well. I think we showed the desire to play balls in early and get numbers into the box, which generated two great goals for us. I was really pleased for Destiny, she's worked really hard and deserved to be rewarded. ?Sophie is obviously dangerous every time she gets to the attacking third. Disappointed that we, unfortunately, gave away a counterattack goal because we were kind of in control, and then that turned it into a desperate game. But in the end, you've got to win ugly, and you've got to win tight games. And we did. So, I'm happy."

AS IT HAPPENED
The Spartans Andrews got the lone goal of the first half. TWU fourth-year forward Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, B.C.) got open on the left side of the TRU penalty area and sent a low pass through the centre of the six. Andrews stretched to redirect the ball past Ursen to give TWU the opening goal in the 26th minute. The half would end with the Spartans leading 1-0.

The Spartans got their second of the night with Crowther setting up Omari. Crowther went of the left side of the park and sent a low pass to the far post where Omari beat the TRU outside back to the ball and slotted it into the lower right corner to put the Spartans up 2-0 in the 56th minute.
The WolfPack got on board in the 62nd minute. Defender Katie Chun sent Lufo in alone on a through ball. Lufo broke in alone on Pahal and found the open left side of the net to make it a one-goal game, with TWU leading 2-1. Lufo almost got the equalizer in the 78th minute when she got free in the TWU penalty area, but Pahal made the stop on the TRU striker to preserve the Spartan one-goal victory.
