VICTORIA - The Spartans dreams of a Cinderella run have come to an end, as they fell to the Uvic Vikes in the Canada West Quarter Final with a final score of 95-67.
Â
The Spartans were looking dangerous right off the jump, as they put up 26 first quarter points and only allowed the Vikes 16 of their own. The Vikes bounced back in the second quarter, putting up 30 points and held the Spartans to just 16. In the second half, the Spartans really struggled to put points up, as they were held to just 25 second half points.Â
Â
Tyus Devries (Chilliwack B.C.) led the way on offense, putting up 18 points on a very efficient 8-12 outing. David Mutabazi (Delta B.C.) was next up with 17 points, shooting 5-11 from the field. Marcus Shankar (Campbell River, B.C.) also hit double figures, scoring 10 points.Â
