SASKATOON –
Dajean Clarke took home gold in heptathlon for the second year in a row at the Canada West Championships with a Trinity Western record score of 5,010 points Saturday at the Saskatoon Fieldhouse.
The third-year Clarke took top spot by breaking his own TWU record of 5,008 points, which he set while finishing first at last year's conference championships.
On the second day of the heptathlon, Clarke was third in the 60m hurdles (9.29), second in pole vault (4.25m) and fourth in the 1000m (3:04.15).
Erica Udoh also medaled for the Spartans, winning bronze in weight throw with a mark of 15.56m. The bronze marks the second medal for Udoh in as many years at the CW Championships, after winning silver in 2025.
Sheleena Wiley finished fourth in triple jump with a mark of 11.91m.
Ethan Gremaud finished 10th in the 600m in 1:22.28.
Brandon Gremaud, who was fourth in the heptathlon after the first day of competition, did not compete on the second day due to injury.
TWU finished the Canada West Championships with three medals, including a silver medal from
Jaime Eduardo Martin Huerta in pole vault (4.75m).
As a team, TWU's men finished seventh, with 21 points, and TWU's women's team was eighth with 17.5 points. With TWU now competing in NAIA for indoor and outdoor track and field, the Spartans sent just eight athletes to the Canada West Championships this year.
