Later in the period, Ilona Markova found the back of the net at 19:35, assisted by Presley Zinger and Sophia Gaskell, also on the power play. Trinity Western's penalties, including infractions by Sadie Isfeld and Maisie Kozak, created multiple man-advantage situations for UBC, contributing to the Thunderbirds' 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.

TWU final solved Hugens when they capitalized on a power-play opportunity late in the third period to cut the deficit to 3-1. At 17:48, UBC's Bierd was penalized for holding, giving the Spartans the advantage. Isfeld scored a power-play goal at 18:24, assisted by Presleigh Giesbrecht and Kyra McDonald.
