LANGLEY, B.C. – Yemane Mulugeta broke an 11-year-old Spartans record in the 1500m and made the "A" qualifying standard for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and
Rui Ramsay set TWU's 100m record to help lead the Spartans during the Battle of Sparta on a day when 11 school records were set or equaled Saturday at McLeod Athletic Park.
Mulugeta ran 3:47.62 to eclipse the previous 1500m record of 3:48.12, which was set by Declan White June 5, 2015 in Langley. Meanwhile, Ramsay broke a 9-day-old record, running 10.52 in the 100m to better
Favour Adeyanju's time of 10.57, which he clocked April 2 in Arizona.
On the women's side, Charlotte Dyck broke a 12-year-old mark in the 100m with a time of 12.12, taking the record from Liza Whitehead, who ran 12.32 May 1, 2014.
