BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Sarah Ude and
Malcolm Reid each earned NAIA National Championship Qualifying 'B" Standards and both set TWU records on Friday at the Pee Wee Halsell Invitational, with Ude throwing 51.34m the hammer throw and Reid running 9:21.69 in the 3000m steeplechase. Teammate
Rui Ramsay also set a Spartans record for the second time in less than two weeks, clocking a time of 10.50 in the 100m.
Ude's throw of 51.34m eclipsed her previous mark of 50.09, which she threw March 21, 2026 in Coquitlam, B.C.
Reid bettered the previous 3000m steeplechase record of 9:26.20, which had been held by Joel De Schiffart since setting on April 25, 2015 in Bellingham.
Ramsay lowered his own Spartans record, which had been 10.52.
The team will compete in the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational Saturday in Bellingham.
