LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans dropped to .500 on the season after a 3-0 loss to the visiting UBC Thunderbirds Saturday evening at Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C. TWU now sits at 1-1 on the season, while UBC improves to 2-0 with the win.
Scoring for UBC was Max Comsia with two goals (30', 57'), Lucas Dasovic (76').
First-year
Jakob Frank (Delta, B.C.) played the full ninety and made four saves in the Spartans' loss. UBC's Roko Vukic (Burnaby, B.C.) made three saves in the Thunderbirds' shutout win.

AS IT HAPPENED
The Thunderbirds' Comsia opened the scoring in the 30th minute when he converted a blocked shot by teammate Oliver Herbert. From the centre of the box, Comsia one-timed the ball into the top left side of the Spartans' net to put UBC up 1-0. The Spartans, first-year forward
Elijah Bean (Edmonton, AB) and fifth-year midfielder Justin Low (Port Moody, BC), each had quality chances in the remainder of the opening half but couldn't get level before the first 45 minutes ended. UBC outshot TWU 8-2 in total shots and 4-2 in shots on goal.
Comsia got his second of the night in the 57th minute. Comsia took a pass from Eric Lajeunesse and dribbled into the TWU penalty area before curling a ball into the far right corner of the Spartans' net. The Thunderbirds' Lucas Dasovic made it a three-goal margin when he converted a corner kick from Cameron Hajdu in the 76th minute.

- The Thunderbirds outshot the Spartans 13-8 in total shots, and 7-3 in shots on goal.
- UBC had a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.
- There was a 70-minute injury delay during halftime.
