LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western keeper Yasmine Pahal (Surrey, BC) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping the Spartans to a four-point weekend with a tie against the Victoria Vikes and a win over the UNBC Timberwolves.
 
The fifth-year psychology student finished the weekend without giving up a goal. Pahal made three saves in Friday's 0-0 draw with the Victoria Vikes and then followed up with another three saves in the Spartans' 1-0 win over the UNBC Timberwolves.
 
The win gives Pahal 21 career Canada West conference wins, which moves her into a tie for third spot with former Spartan Angela Garriott ('04) on the TWU Spartans all-time career wins list.
 
Pahal and the Spartans will head west for two road matches next weekend. TWU will visit the UBC Okanagan Heat Friday, September 25 at 5 p.m. (PT) in Kelowna, B.C., before taking on the UBC Thunderbirds Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. (PT) in Vancouver. Both matches will air live on Canada West TV.
