SPARTAN MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK I JUSTIN KIPLAGAT

LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western's Justin Kiplagat (Nairobi, Kenya) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after winning the Western Washington Bill Roe Classic and leading the Spartans to a second-place finish.
 
Kiplagat, a fourth-year business student, earned the top spot in the men's 8K race with a time of 24:06.20.
 
Kiplagat and the rest of the Spartans will have a couple of weeks off before returning to race at the Western Washington Padden Invitational at Lake Padden Park on Saturday, October 24 in Bellingham, Wash.
 
About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 15 U SPORTS team championships and 35 Canada West team championships.
