Trevor Pridie enters his eighth year as head coach of the Trinity Western University men’s basketball program in 2026-27. Since taking over in 2019, Pridie has compiled an overall record of 65-86 and a 46-72 record in Canada West regular-season play. He has guided the Spartans to four postseason appearances and three Canada West quarterfinal berths, including consecutive quarterfinal appearances in 2024-25 and 2025-26. The 2026-27 campaign is his seventh competitive season after the cancellation of the 2020-21 Canada West season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pridie, who hails from Abbotsford, B.C., joined the Spartans after spending the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach and head video coordinator with Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors’ NBA G League affiliate. His responsibilities included video preparation, participation in daily practices and player development. He also worked with the Toronto Raptors’ NBA Summer League team in 2018, assisting with practices and individual workouts.
In 2025-26, Pridie guided Trinity Western to a 9-11 Canada West record and a second consecutive quarterfinal appearance. The Spartans won their final four regular-season games, defeating Thompson Rivers, UNBC, Fraser Valley and UBC Okanagan to secure a postseason berth. TWU then defeated Mount Royal 76-68 in the play-in round before falling 95-67 to No. 1 Victoria in the quarterfinals. Pridie led the Spartans to a 12-8 Canada West record in 2024-25, matching the highest conference win total of his tenure. After opening the regular season with five consecutive losses, Trinity Western won 12 of its final 15 conference games, including nine of its final 10. That run featured an 83-68 victory over No. 2 UBC and season sweeps of Thompson Rivers, UNBC and Fraser Valley. In 2023-24, Trinity Western finished 5-15 in Canada West play, with its season highlighted by a 92-85 overtime victory over No. 1 Victoria at the Langley Events Centre. The Spartans won three of their final four regular-season games, sweeping UNBC at home before closing the campaign with a 77-76 road victory over Fraser Valley. Pridie guided Trinity Western to a 12-8 Canada West record in 2022-23, securing his first winning conference season with the Spartans and a second consecutive postseason appearance. TWU put together a five-game winning streak and earned a 96-94 victory over UBC, along with weekend sweeps of Lethbridge, Fraser Valley, MacEwan and UBC Okanagan. Following the cancellation of the previous season, Pridie led Trinity Western to an 8-10 Canada West record and a quarterfinal appearance in 2021-22. The Spartans defeated MacEwan 115-78 in the opening playoff round before earning a 102-92 victory over host Calgary in the second round. Their postseason run ended with a 105-81 quarterfinal loss to Regina. The two victories were TWU’s first postseason wins since the program reached the Canada West championship game in 2010-11. Trinity Western did not compete in a Canada West season in 2020-21 after the conference cancelled basketball competition because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pridie took over a rebuilding Trinity Western program in 2019-20, beginning his university head-coaching career after his season with Raptors 905. The Spartans finished 0-20 in Canada West play as he began reshaping the roster and establishing his approach to the program. Before joining the Raptors organization, Pridie served as head coach and program director for BC Bounce from 2011 to 2018. He led a grassroots basketball program that trained more than 1,000 young athletes annually, overseeing player development and helping athletes build the skills needed to advance in the sport.
While working with BC Bounce, Pridie spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball program from 2015 to 2017. He also served as head coach of the senior boys’ basketball team at W.J. Mouat Secondary from 2014 to 2016 and coached Basketball BC provincial teams from 2011 to 2014, working with the U14 and U15 boys’ programs.
Pridie holds an Associate of Arts degree in criminology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of the Fraser Valley.
