Chris Trendall

Chris Trendall joined the Spartans in the fall of 2013 as an assistant coach under Barret Kropf.

Trendall has more than 21 years of playing experience and eleven years of coaching experience.

As a player, Trendall most recently played for Briercrest College, suiting up with the Clippers from 2005 to 2010 and playing in 127 games in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. Following his five years at Briercrest, Trendall graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Recreational Leadership.

As a coach Trendall has experience working at the Junior B level, as he was an assistant coach with the Abbotsford Pilots, helping them to their second provincial title (Cyclone Taylor Cup) and their first Western Canadian title (Keystone Cup) in Pilots history in 2012. In addition, he was the head coach of Abbotsford’s Midget AAA hockey team in 2012-13 where he helped guide the Hawks to the Midget AAA provincials. With the Spartans, Trendall helped TWU to the BCIHL final five times, winning in 2017-18 and 2018-19. 

Beyond his work with TWU, Trendall also works with the MEI Hockey Academy as the head on-ice instructor as well as a development coach with the Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association. Trendall lives in Abbotsford, B.C. with his wife, Arielle, and their daughters Jerah and Maelie, and son Tysen.
