Chris Wiens

Chris Wiens joined the Spartans midway through the 2011-12 season and continued as an assistant coach under Barret Kropf, when he stepped behind the bench, in the fall of 2013.  

Wiens, who graduated from TWU in 1998, played for the TWU men’s hockey team from 1995-1998 and was the captain in his final season. Upon graduation, Wiens went behind the TWU bench and coached the team to a league championship in 1998-99. 

Through 2015, Wiens served as the director of Athletes in Action Hockey, directing summer hockey schools across Canada, leading 15 international hockey tours, and working with junior and professional hockey players in chaplain capacity.

Since 2015, when he isn’t at the rink, Wiens has been working on building his own planning business in the financial services industry.

Wiens is married to his wife Serenity.  They live in Langley with their four children Moriah, Caedmon, Malia and Selah.
