TORONTO, Ontario – Trinity Western’s Nicolas Martin Huerta (Santiago, Chile) is the U SPORTS Athlete of the Week in men’s track and field after he crushed his performance at the Husky Indoor Classic this past weekend in Seattle, Wash.
Huerta, a fourth-year business student, had a pole vault distance of 4.92m. His vault brought him into the top spot in USPORTS rankings for men’s pole vault, beating his previous jump of 4.90m.
The Spartans are set to next compete on February 23-24 in the 2024 Canada West Championships at the Universiade Pavilion in Edmonton.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
