Box Score WATERLOO, Ontario – Setter Adam Schriemer (Winnipeg) had an impressive outing and the Spartans hitters followed suit, as Trinity Western put together the most complete match of its Eastern Canada tour, winning 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-20) over Waterloo Wednesday.
The Spartans are now 5-2 on their tour and 7-2 in preseason action this year.
"It was a good match for us," said Spartans coach Ben Josephson. "I feel that was by far the best match we've played on this tour in every phase. I thought it was one of Adam's best performance running an offence. Ryan Sclater (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) and Jacob Kern (Edmonton) and Ben Lieuwen (Abbotsford, B.C.) were all awesome. Scott (Plocktis, Kelowna, B.C.) was great and our middles were great. We'll find something to be critical of on tape, as always, but watching it live, I was super proud of them. They worked on the things we were working on. Our objective was to apply pressure in all phases of the game and they did that. They had great service pressure, passing pressure, the block was solid and the defensive transition was great."
TWU also won a fourth set, taking the bonus set 28-26. The Spartans will now travel to the Maritimes for two games each against New Brunswick and Dalhousie.
