Fourth-year Riley Vander Meulen (Edmonton) capped the night with the match-winning kill.
The teams played an exhibition fourth set, with TWU winning 25-14.
QUOTABLE
Head Coach Ben Josephson
"It was mission accomplished. I thought we were better in high ball, which was one goal. We played really with good block defence discipline. But I thought our service pressure wasn't appropriate. We missed far too many. If we're going to serve as tough as we do, we're going to miss a lot and that's fine. But I thought there were a lot of mindless misses. But this is where and when we learn to serve."
