THE WEEKEND STORY

• TWU returns home after a pair of losses on the road to No. 2 ranked Calgary.
• MacEwan travels after splitting a pair of home games over Thompson Rivers last weekend.
• Spartans forward Nicole Fransson (Edmonton) will look to carry the offense for TWU, after coming off a career-high 17 rebounds in last Friday's 69-61 loss. 
• Fransson comes into the weekend ranked first in conference rebounds per-game (11.7), and third in points per-game (19.3). 
• Kianna Wiens (Regina, Sask.) is also off to a hot start for the Spartans, tied for 13^th in conference scoring (13.5). 
• MacEwan will look to get its offense rolling as they rank second-last in Canada West for points per-game, averaging 51.2. TWU's average of 58.2 ranks 13^th.
• TWU and MacEwan did not meet last season, while the Spartans came out victorious in their two meetings in 2017-18 (Feb. 2-3, 2018), which marked the first time the Griffins and Spartans had met in a regular season contest.
