SPARTANS SWEEP CASCADES

LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western defeated Fraser Valley in straight sets on Saturday night to move to move to 5-0 in preseason play. The Spartans made short work of the Cascades winning the match 25-19, 25-16, and 25-17.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Ben Josephson
" Today we tried to simulate a Canada West game day with serve and pass in the morning and then reviewing video of yesterday's match in the afternoon. Last night we had a lot of elements pop up that we weren't pleased with. A lot of mind set things, blocking and defence things and we spent some time on video on those items. And it showed, I thought the guys did a really good job of synthesizing the information we gave them and putting it into the match."

"With how few games we have in Canada West this year, we can't afford to miss the opportunity to upgrade between matches. Today we took advantage of that and we had a nice performance."

On Fraser Valley:
"It's fun to have UFV in the leagues and Nat (Bennett) is a great coach and we are excited to have the Cascades down the road and have a new rivalry in the Fraser Valley."

UP NEXT
The Spartans are back at home for another pair of preseason match next Friday and Saturday, when they will host the UBC Okanagan Heat. Match times at the Langley Events Centre are set for 7p.m. each night.
