SPARTANS BEAT UCLA BRUINS IN STRAIGHT SETS

LOS ANGELES – Trinity Western rolled to a convincing 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-19) win over UCLA in the Spartans final match of the SAC Tournament.

With the win, the Spartans finish the tournament with a 2-1 record, while owning a 3-1 record overall through their first four games of TWU's California road trip, including victories against Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara.

The win comes against a UCLA side that was ranked sixth in last year's final NVA/AVCA Division I-II Men's Coaches Poll. The Spartans are now 5-2 all-time against UCLA.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Ben Josephson
"This was our focal point for the last few days, as we were trying to make sure we were ready to play this match and we played a really great match. It was super clean and really aggressive and athletic. You can't play a lot better than that at this time of the year, so credit to our team for being prepared and for performing like that. We have so much respect for UCLA and their coaching staff. Coach John Speraw is a great coach and incredibly accomplished and they were well-prepared and very talented and our guys were up for the challenge. I'm really proud of the guys. It was a great tournament and now we will regroup and we have Pepperdine on Sunday night and then Long Beach. So, we still have some great volleyball coming up."
