The Spartans (7-6-1) jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first period off an
Amy Potomak (Aldergrove, B.C.) marker before the Dinos (5-7-2) rallied back with three unanswered goals from Annaliese Meier, Jolie Nafzinger, and Elizabeth Lang.
In net, Spartans goaltender
Kate Fawcett (Tottenham, Ont.) stopped 28 of 31 shots she faced while Calgary goaltender Amelia Awad made 22 saves on 23 TWU attempts at goal.
AS IT HAPPENED
Potomak got the Spartans on the board 11:00 into the first period, ending the frame at a 1-0 TWU advantage.
The Dinos tied the game up in the second period off of Meier's goal. The second period ended at a 1-1 lock.
The final period of play saw Calgary extend their streak of unanswered goals to three, courtesy of Nafzinger and Lang's markers, ending the game at 3-1.
