SPARTANS FALL TO REGINA

REGINA – Trinity Western fell 5-4 to Regina at the Co-Operators Arena on Friday.
 
The Spartans (1-12-1) were able to make their way to a 2-1 lead by the end of the first period before surrendering four unanswered goals to the Cougars (2-9-1) after their early advantage.
 
TWU's got two goals from Josh Borynec (Parkland County, Alta.), and one from both first-year Mitchell Joss (Winnipeg) and Daine DuBois (Williams Lake, B.C.).
 
TWU goaltender Raphael Audet (Rimouski, Que.) stopped 17 of 22 shots in the loss.
 
AS IT HAPPENED
The Cougars struck first off a goal from Riley Krane, but the Spartans rallied with Borynec and Joss scoring their third and fourth respective goals of the season to take a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.
 
Regina recovered in the second period, scoring four unanswered to take a 5-2 lead by the second period's end.

TWU rallied back in the third period as Borynec and DuBois both found their fourth of the season, but the Cougars stood tall, sealing their second victory of the season after a late surge from the Spartans.

• The Cougars outshot the Spartans 38-33.
• Regine went 1/6 on the power play while the Spartans went 0/2.
