SPARTAN MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK I ERIK NIEBUHR

LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western's Erik Niebuhr (Surrey, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after leading the Spartans to a program-defining victory over Rugby Canada's development team, Pacific Pride.

After going down 21-0 in the first 25 minutes of Saturday's match, Niebuhr got the Spartans on the board in the 36th minute, breaking the line to dot down for TWU's first try of the match.

Niebuhr accompanied his try with a total of two line breaks, 10 carries, and a perfect tackling record of 13/13.

With an outstanding team performance being led by Niebuhr in their third playing season, the Spartans will surely be looking to carry this momentum from what was an extravagant home-opening victory.

TWU's Coastal Cup campaign currently bears a 1-1 record with a tilt at UBC (0-2) up next on Sept. 24 at 2:30 p.m.
