SPARTANS PLAY TO SCORELESS DRAW WITH DINOS

LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western's men's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with the visiting Calgary Dinos Saturday at Chase Office Field.

Spartans goalie Alexander Cordeiro (Burnaby, B.C.) made four saves to earn the clean sheet for the home side. With the draw, TWU is now 5-3-2 in the regular season.

Calgary goalkeeper Jake Ruschkowski made three saves for the Dinos (3-3-3), but was helped out by the woodwork, as the Spartans hit two posts.

Thomas Powell (Coquitlam, B.C.) hit the post in the 23rd minute, before Jordan Low (Port Moody, B.C.) did the same in the 26th minute.

The Spartans heavily outshot the Dinos, finishing with an 18-6 edge in total shots. However, Calgary had a slight advantage in shots on goal, at 4-3. The Spartans finished with nine corner kicks to the Dinos one.

QUOTABLE
Mike Shearon – TWU Head Coach
"Tonight was massively disappointing. I think we should've had a goal tonight. We hit two posts. We need to carry our play on from one night to another. Dropping points isn't great tonight. We need to regroup heading into a tough upcoming weekend."
