SPARTANS FALL TO THOMPSON RIVERS

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Trinity Western fell to Thompson Rivers on Friday night at Hillside Stadium.

One TWU (5-4-2) goal from Soren Di Sabatino (Langley, B.C.) was not enough as division-leading TRU (7-2-1) would get goals from Ryan Lewis and Dylan Hooper to seal their victory.

The Spartans only tested TRU keeper Jackson Gardner twice as Spartans keeper Alexander Cordeiro (Burnaby, B.C.) would stop five of seven TRU attempts he faced.

First-year Jordan Low (Port Moody, B.C.) assisted on Di Sabatino's marker, chipping in for his first assist in his career.

AS IT HAPPENED
The WolfPack were first to score as Lewis potted his seventh of the season in the 15th minute.

The Spartans didn't take long to answer back as Di Sabatino reeled in a touch-pass from Low, volleying it past Gardner to even the match at one apiece.

TRU sealed the match in the 75th on a Dylan Hooper marker.

QUOTABLE
Mike Shearon – TWU Head Coach
"Obviously disappointed in the result. Credit to TRU for making the most of their chances in the game. We need to move on and get ready for a massive game tomorrow."

NOTABLE
•    Although the Spartans have never lost at home to TRU (7-0-1), playing at Hillside Stadium has been a different story as TWU's record now falls to 3-5-1 in Kamloops, B.C. The Spartans still hold the all-time edge with a 10-5-2 record over the WolfPack.
•    The Spartans have now fallen to fourth place in the Pacific division with UFV trailing them by seven points. UFV also holds two games in hand (3-4-1).

UP NEXT
TWU takes on UBC Okanagan (2-4-2) at Nonis Field on Saturday (6:00 p.m. PT).
